GIS services for government

A collection of GIS and mapping resources for Massachusetts municipalities. Other politicial subdivisions of the commonwealth may also participate.

In 1999, the state legislature extended MassGIS’ responsibilities to include coordinating geographic information system (GIS) development efforts at all levels of government in the Commonwealth. GIS technology can provide cities and towns with significant benefits: greater transparency and access by citizens; more effective asset management; improved delivery of services; the ability to visualize current status and to plan for future projects.
