310 CMR 74.00 protects public health, safety, welfare and the environment by implementing the Mercury Management Act (St. 2006, c. 190). 310 CMR 74.00 prohibits the sale of mercury-added vehicle switches, establishes requirements for the removal of mercury-added vehicle switches and other components that contain mercury before a vehicle is crushed or shredded, and requires a performance-based compliance certification in compliance with 310 CMR 70.00: Environmental Results Program Certification.
