Services available at the REC

Make an appointment to get help with your claim, connect with job search services, and update your unemployment services account.

Get help with your claim: 

  • Apply or reopen an unemployment claim
  • Drop off or print documents needed for your claim
  • Complete your fact-finding questionnaire
  • Get help with overpayments

Get help with your job search: 

Get help with your unemployment account: 

  • Reset your Password
  • Reset your PIN
  • Update your personal information, include your bank account, family details, email, and mailing address 

Services not available at the REC

The Boston REC can’t help you with:  

Make an appointment

Appointments are required. You can make an appointment online anytime.

We’ll send a text to confirm your appointment:

  • To cancel your appointment, follow the instructions in the confirmation text
  • To reschedule your appointment, you will need to cancel it and schedule a new one

Directions to the REC

The REC is located in downtown Boston. The entrance is on Avenue de Lafayette. 

  • Public transit: Downtown Crossing is the nearest MBTA station. The SL5 and Route 11 bus also stop nearby. Plan your trip on the MBTA.
  • Driving: Parking is very limited. There are garages and metered spots nearby.

What to expect at your appointment

Accessibility and translation services are available at the Boston REC. You can request these when you check in for your appointment. 

  • Check in: We’ll give you a card with a REC number. You will need this to access various services at the REC.
  • Waiting area: After you check in, you’ll go to a waiting area where staff will call you up by your REC number.
  • Welcome station: We’ll ask questions about your personal situation to make sure you get the help you need. This information is private and will not be shared.
  • Transfer to other services: Based on your need, staff may direct you to other services, for example the MassHire Department of Career Services
