Unemployment Insurance for Employers

An overview of information for employers to understand and manage the Commonwealth's unemployment insurance requirements.

Starting May 6

One-Stop Shop for Employers

Massachusetts has upgraded to a single system called Unemployment Services for Employers so you can manage both your tax account and employee benefit claims in one place. UI Online has been replaced — you will no longer need to use both systems.

Account and employer registration

Register your business with the Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) to access your Unemployment Services for Employers account. This is the only system where you can view and manage information related to your unemployment insurance employer account.

Quarterly contributions

Massachusetts law requires employers to submit quarterly wage detail reports and make unemployment insurance payments.

Protest unemployment benefits and file an appeal

If you believe an employee should not receive benefits or disagree with a determination, you can file a protest or appeal.
