The harassment prevention law, called Chapter 258E, is there to protect you against someone who is harassing, stalking or sexually assaulting you. It does not matter what your relationship with them might be. The law allows you to seek a court order. This is sometimes called a 258E order, harassment prevention order, restraining order, or protective order.
If you're not sure if you're eligible for a harassment prevention order, please see Find out what qualifies as harassment. See Request a harassment prevention order for more information on filing.
If you're looking for forms for abuse prevention orders, please see Restraining order/abuse prevention order court forms.
Some of these forms may also be available in other languages.
