DCR Watershed Forestry Project Proposals

View the annual proposals prepared by DCR Division of Water Supply Protection for its watershed management forest projects. A public comment period is provided each year after the proposals are posted on the DCR website.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation's Division of Water Supply Protection (DWSP) manages the Quabbin Reservoir, Ware River, and Wachusett Reservoir watersheds as the source supply of drinking water for over three million people.  Forest management is a key component of DCR's watershed protection.

Proposals for every forestry project are produced by DCR DWSP staff for review by the Quabbin Watershed Advisory Committee, the Ware River Watershed Advisory Committee, and the general public.  A public comment period is provided each year. These proposals, as well as current and completed projects, can be viewed on an interactive map. If you prefer, the following are the descriptions that are also in the interactive map.
