What you need for Renew your coverage for MassHealth, the Health Safety Net, or the Children's Medical Security Plan

If you're under 65, or you're a working disabled adult, or a parent or caretaker relative of any age, and living in the community, renew here if you received a renewal notice in the mail. 

You will need the following:

  • The renewal form you received in the mail 
  • Documents that show important changes
    •  Examples include:
      • Change of address
      • New social security numbers (SSNs) for people applying
      • Federal tax returns, if you file
      • Changes in health coverage offered
      • Changes to immigration or citizenship status
      • Pay stubs or employer statements
      • Information that may be new or might have changed about a non-custodial parent

How to renew Renew your coverage for MassHealth, the Health Safety Net, or the Children's Medical Security Plan

We use The Massachusetts Health Connector site for applying for and renewing MassHealth. Sign in to your Health Connector user account to renew.

  • If you don’t have an account, use the web link provided in your renewal notice to create an account. You can also call the MassHealth Customer Service Center to get help creating your online account. You’ll need an email address.

  • If you have an account, but don’t know your username or password, you can “reset” them on the website.
  • If you don’t remember creating an online account, you do not need to complete a new application. Go to The Massachusetts Health Connector and try to reset your username and password. You can also call the MassHealth Customer Service Center and we can help.

  • Once you have access to your account, review the information on your renewal application. This is the fastest and easiest way to renew your MassHealth coverage.

The Enrollment Centers are open for limited walk-in appointments. We strongly encourage you to use MassHealth’s new appointment scheduler if you need help from a MassHealth Customer Service Representative.

If you're 65 or older or you need long-term-care services, go to the Renew your MassHealth coverage for seniors and people who need long-term care page.

Your MassHealth renewal notice includes a due date. Unless your notice says that you don’t need to do anything, you must respond by the due date listed, or your benefits might decrease or end.

If you didn't get a notice asking you to renew, you don't need to do anything now, unless you have had some changes. Any time you have changes to any of the information that you gave us, you must tell us within 10 days, or as soon as possible.

If your notice asks you to, you must update the information we have on record for you and your family. This information helps us decide if you can get MassHealth, Health Safety Net, or Children’s Medical Security Plan.

Voter registration

If you are a U.S. citizen, a resident of Massachusetts, and 18 years old on or before election day, you can register to vote. Just print out this voter registration form and bring or mail it to your town or city hall. If you need help, you can call (800) 841-2900 (TTY: (800) 497-4648 for the deaf, hard of hearing, and speech disabled).
