What you need for Renew your MassHealth coverage for seniors and people who need long-term-care services

Did you receive a notice telling you that it's time to renew your MassHealth coverage and you need to respond?

Your MassHealth renewal notice includes a due date. Unless your notice says that you don’t need to do anything, you must respond by the due date listed, or your benefits might decrease or end.

Important:  If you didn't get a notice asking you to renew, you don't need to do anything now, unless you have had some changes.

Any time you have changes to any of the information that you gave us, you must tell us within 10 days, or as soon as possible.

If your notice asks you to, you must update the information we have on record for you and your family. This information helps us decide if you can get MassHealth or Health Safety Net.

You may need to send the following information along with your renewal form.

  • Current proof of your monthly income (you do not have to send proof of Social Security or SSI income.)
  • Current proof of your assets
  • Other health coverage like Medicare or private insurance that is new or may have changed
  • Documentation for anything else that may have changed since your last renewal

Use the form that came with your renewal notice.

Step One. If you need to make updates, follow the instructions on the form. Please make sure that your handwriting is easy to read.

Step Two. Sign and date the form, whether or not you made changes.

Step Three. Mail all pages to

You can also visit one of the regional MassHealth Enrollment Centers (MECs). Do not mail or fax an application to any of these enrollment centers.
