DDS Statewide Advisory Council (SAC)

The SAC advises the Commissioner on issues regarding DDS services and supports.


The DDS Statewide Advisory Council (SAC) meets the second Tuesday of every month at noon to advise the Commissioner on policy, program development, and priorities for DDS services and supports. November meeting will occur on 11/25/25 in recognition of Veteran's Day.

By regulation 115CMR 3.02 (5)(a), the Statewide Advisory Council is appointed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services and approved by the Governor.

What is the Statewide Advisory Council (SAC)?

DDS has groups called Citizen Advisory Boards (CAB) across the state, as well as a Statewide Advisory Council (SAC). CABs and the SAC work to make things better for people with disabilities.

CABs and the SAC include people who have disabilities, family members, caregivers, professionals, and other community members.

Members give advice to the DDS Commissioner about what the community needs and how to improve DDS programs and services. They also help by talking to lawmakers and teaching the community about disabilities.
