Rule 2
In all cases not governed by the Mass.R.Dom.Rel.P., appearances and pleadings shall be governed by Mass.R.Civ.P. 11.
If the person appearing is an attorney-at-law, the written appearance shall also include the person's Board of Bar Overseers number.
Except for joint petitions for divorce, petitions for grandparent visitation and joint petitions for modification of child support, no appearance in a case commenced by petition shall be filed after 10:00 a.m. on the return day except by leave of court or in substitution or addition of attorneys.
An appearance may specify that it is not an objection to the petition, and such an appearance may be filed after 10:00 a.m. on the return day without leave of court.

(2012) Appearances are generally covered by Mass.R.Civ.P. 11. Not covered by Rule 11 is an appearance after 10:00 a.m. on return days of citations, which is added to this rule
