Rule 3
In all cases not governed by the Mass.R.Dom.Rel.P., service and filing of pleadings and other papers shall be governed by Mass.R.Civ.P. 5. Wherever the word "complaint" appears in said rule, it shall also mean, where applicable, "petition."
When notice of a petition has been given by service of a citation, notice of any pleading asserting new or additional claims for relief not asserted in the original petition shall be given by service of a new citation.
Reporter's notes
(2012) Rule 5 of the Mass.R.Civ.P. sufficiently addresses the topic, so there is no need for a different rule.
