The searchable links below allow examination of consumer complaints against the largest private passenger automobile insurance companies in Massachusetts for the years 2005-2015. When a consumer files a complaint against an auto insurer with the Division of Insurance, the Division’s Consumer Services Unit is responsible for taking action. Insurance examiners from the Division work with the consumer and the insurer to gather and analyze information, providing a resolution which is consistent with the specific insurance contract, law or regulation. On average, the Division receives between 1,500 and 2,000 consumer complaints annually, including several hundred for automobile-related matters.
