What you need   for Withdraw a supplier, broker or retail agent license

You will need to draft a letter on the company letterhead and include:

  • the supplier, electricity broker, or retail agent name
  • the supplier, electricity broker, or retail agent's license number
  • a statement stating that you want to withdraw your license.

Mail the letter stating that you want to withdraw your supplier, electricity broker, or retail agent license to:

Please also send an electronic copy to:

  1. mark.marini@mass.gov, and 
  2. dpu.electricsupply@mass.gov (for electric licenses) or dpu.gassupply@mass.gov (for gas licenses)

You will not receive confirmation from the DPU that your license is withdrawn.  To confirm that your license is withdrawn, go to the list of licensed electric suppliers and brokers or gas suppliers and retail agents and check whether the company is on this list.
