Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) Dashboard

The Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) dashboard reports on substance misuse outcomes, harm reduction services, and BSAS program enrollments – providing a comprehensive view of substance misuse across the state.

The dashboard is updated every 6 months. The most recent update occurred in July 2024 and included the following enhancements to the Community Profile:

• The Overview tab now features a statewide view along with several new metrics.
• The Deaths tab has been completely redesigned to allow detailed analysis of deaths by race/ethnicity, age, sex, and more.
• The new Data to Action tab offers communities recommendations on how to apply the data found on the dashboard.

About this dashboard

The dashboard is comprised of two main pages: the Community Profile page, and the Data on BSAS Enrollments page.

The Community Profile provides specific city, town, and county level snapshots of substance-related deaths, emergency events, and services, while the BSAS Enrollments page reports on individuals who received services for substance use disorders, broken out by geography, fiscal years, and demographic characteristics.

Both pages can be accessed from the dashboard’s initial Home Screen. After accessing either page, there will be a navigation menu in the upper left of the dashboard allowing for further exploration of the dashboard.

To view definitions of terms used throughout the dashboard, navigate to the Glossary page through the navigation menu in the top left corner of the dashboard.

The Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) collects and organizes data from new services. The funding and management of some of these services might be transferred to other state agencies, following which the admission data may no longer be submitted to BSAS.
