About the Data
These data can be used to find the percentage of potentially life-threatening allergic reactions that occur in schools to individuals without any previously known allergies, and to find the common triggers of those allergic reactions.

About School Epinephrine Administration Data
After administering epinephrine, all Massachusetts schools are required to submit a Report of EpiPen Administration to the Department of Public Health. Reporting of epinephrine administration in all public and nonpublic schools became mandatory in November 2003 under 105 CMR 210.000, the Regulations Governing the Administration of Prescription Medications in Public and Private Schools.
Public and private schools submit an epinephrine administration report each time epinephrine is administered. All data are self-reported by the schools, and are accurate to the extent that schools have submitted accurate data to the department.
