What you need
MyMassGov is a secure service that allows Massachusetts residents and businesses to use a single account and password to sign in to all participating state services and applications.
MyMassGov has both personal and business logins. Personal accounts are labeled with a blue banner, and business accounts with a green banner. If you need both, you must create two separate accounts. You are encouraged to use a work email address to register in MyMassGov for business. Please use an email address unique to you and not one you share with other people.
You will need an email address to set up an account, as well as an authenticator app, mobile device, or landline phone.
If you already have a MyMassGov account, you can link your account to additional services and applications. You can also learn how to set up a MyMassGov personal account.
How to register
Creating a new MyMassGov business account
If you don't already have a MyMassGov business account, it's easy to create one:
- Go to my.mass.gov.
- Select the "Business" account type (green banner).
- Select "Create an Account."
- Select "Continue" to agree and create an account.
- Enter your email address. This must be a valid email address that you can access to get a one-time code for verification.
- We recommend using your work email address for a business account. Please do not use a shared work email address.
- Select "Send Verification Code" to get a code by email.
- You will receive an email from login@noreply.mass.gov with a one-time verification code.
- Enter the code from the email into the "Verification Code" field on the MyMassGov page.
- Select "Verify."
- Enter your first and last name.
- Select "Continue."
- Enter a password that's between 8 and 64 characters in length and meets at least three of these requirements:
- Contains a special character (e.g., @ # $ % ^ & *)
- Contains a number
- Contains an uppercase character
- Contains a lowercase character
- Confirm your password by re-entering it.
- Select "Create an Account."

Multifactor authentication (MFA)
When you're setting up your account, you'll be asked to choose how you'd like to receive a multifactor authentication (MFA) code. Multifactor authentication is a secure method of verifying whether a user attempting to log in with an email address and password is, in fact, the owner of the account. Codes can be sent to an authentication app on your smartphone, texted to you, or sent by phone call. When you log in, you may be asked to provide this code in addition to your email and password, to ensure that only someone with your phone can log into your account. Read more about setting up MFA.
