WHEREAS, By Executive Order Number 43, dated March 31, 1962 I declared that an emergency existed as a result of an interruption of transportation of passengers on vehicles of the Metropolitan Transit Authority by reason of a strike which had continued in violation of a restraining order issued by the Superior Court of Suffolk County, and

WHEREAS, The transportation of passengers on vehicles of the Metropolitan Transit Authority has continued without interruption since April 2, 1962;

NOW, therefore, I, JOHN A. VOLPE, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by virtue of the powers conferred upon me do hereby terminate said emergency.

Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston this twenty-seventh day of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and sixty two, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the one hundred and eighty-sixth.
