Table of Contents
WHEREAS, the holders of Class 1 licenses issued pursuant to the provisions of G. L. (Ter. Ed.) c. 140, s. 58 and 59, as amended, are in need of immediate relief from certain conditions and restrictions relating to said licenses; and
WHEREAS, said relief has been made necessary by circumstances arising out of and relating to the prosecution of the existing state of war between the United States and foreign countries:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Leverett Saltonstall, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, acting under the authority of the Acts of 1942, chapter 13, s.2 (15), and of all other authority vested in me, do hereby issue this order as a measure necessary and expedient for meeting the supreme emergency of the existing state of war between the United States and foreign countries.
An agent's or seller's license, Class 1, granted pursuant to the provisions of G. L. (Ter. Ed.) c. 140, s.58 and 59, to engage in the business of buying or selling secondhand motor vehicles incident to the sale of new motor vehicles, shall, subject to further order, authorize the holder thereof to buy, sell, transfer, exchange, and otherwise deal with secondhand motor vehicles in the same manner permitted to holders of used car dealers' licenses, Class 2, authorized by said chapter 140, sections 58 and 59, and the authority herein conferred shall be subject to all provisions of law and all of the rules and regulations made under section 60 of said chapter 140, with relation to the purchase, sale, transfer, exchange or assembly of second- hand motor vehicles or parts thereof applicable to holders of licenses of Class 2.
