State-Share Grant Program
The following entities are eligible to apply for State-Share grant funding:
- State government agencies
- State authorities
- State universities
- Non-profit institutions
—WITH—
a project that supports homeland security needs and priorities.
Municipalities are not eligible to apply for this funding.

Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP)
Nonprofit organizations eligible to apply for funding must prove to be at high-risk of a terrorist attack
—AND—
must be located within the Metro-Boston Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI):

Brookline | Everett | Somerville |
Cambridge | Quincy | Winthrop |
Provide evidence of prior terrorist threats or attacks through police reports, insurance claims, or other supporting documents. Eligible applicants must:
- Identify as a highly recognized national or historical institution with an increased chance of being a terrorist target
- Detail their responsibilities in responding to or recovering from terrorist attacks
- Prove to be a vulnerability based on risk assessment findings

Commonwealth Nonprofit Security Grant Program (CNSGP)
Nonprofit organizations eligible to apply for funding must prove to be at high-risk of a terrorist attack
—AND—
- Meet the requirements of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986
- Qualify for tax exemptions under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986
- Provide evidence of prior terrorist threats or attacks through police reports, insurance claims, or other supporting documents
- Identify as a highly recognized national or historical institution with an increased chance of being a terrorist target
- Detail their responsibilities in responding to or recovering from terrorist attacks
- Prove to be a vulnerability based on risk assessment findings
Nonprofit organizations within of the Metro-Boston Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) are not eligible to apply for this funding.
