Executive Order  No. 127: Judicial Nominating Commission increase in size

WHEREAS, it is expedient to increase the size of the Judicial Nominating Commission, established pursuant to Executive Order No. 114 on January 3, 1975, so that advice with respect to judicial appointments may be given expeditiously.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael S. Dukakis, Governor of the Commonwealth, by virtue of the authority vested in me as supreme executive magistrate, do hereby order that Executive Order No. 114, dated January 3, 1975, is amended as follows:

(a) Section 2 is amended by substituting in the first sentence the word "fifteen" in place of the word "eleven";

(b) Said Section 2 is further amended by substituting in the second sentence the words "seven" and "eight" respectively for the words "five" and "six";

(c) Section 3 is amended by substituting in the fourth sentence the word "nine" for the word "six";

(d) Section 4 is amended by striking in the second sentence the words, "probate court, juvenile, court, housing court,".


Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston as of this 10th day of June in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Seventy-six and of the Independence of the United States of America, two hundred and first.
