WHEREAS, it is expedient to increase the size of the Bay State Skills Commission, established pursuant to Executive Order No. 185 on September 24, 1980, providing that the employment opportunities available to our people may be increased expeditiously.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Edward J. King, Governor of the Common- wealth, by virtue of the authority vested in me as SUPREME EXECUTIVE MAGISTRATE, do hereby order the Executive Order No. 185, dated September 24, 1980, is amended by striking out paragraph number one and inserting in place thereof the following:
- There is hereby created a Commission, to be known as the Bay State Skills Commission, to consist of not more than 36 members. The Commission shall include the Secretary of Manpower Affairs, who shall serve as Chairman, and not more than 35 individuals appointed by the Governor, who shall serve without compensation, who are knowledgeable in the fields of skills training, business and industry, and education. Each member appointed by the Governor shall serve for a term of five years. In the case of members appointed initially hereunder, not more than seven shall be appointed for five years, not more than seven shall be appointed for four years, not more than seven shall be appointed for three years, not more than seven shall be appointed for two years, and not more than seven shall be appointed for one year.
