Table of Contents
WHEREAS, there is in the Commonwealth a need for the more effective use of federal and state resources in order to better address the needs of low-income families, and
WHEREAS, greater efficiency, as well as the elimination of unnecessary bureaucratic duplication in the administration of programs designed to help alleviate poverty, can be achieved by reassigning the functions of the Social and Economic Opportunity Council to the Division of Social and Economic Opportunity within the Executive Office of Communities and Development, thereby helping to ensure that these programs provide the maximum benefit for those they were intended to serve.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Edward J. King, Governor of the Common- wealth of Massachusetts, by virtue of the authority vested in me as supreme executive magistrate, do hereby order as follows:
Effective as of June 30, 1979, Executive Order No. 121 is hereby revoked.
Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston this 29th day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred seventy-nine and of the Independence of the United States of America two hundred and three.
