Table of Contents
Executive Order Number 123 entitled LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE is hereby amended by striking out section 1 as appearing therein, and inserting in place thereof the following:
1. The Local Government Advisory Committee, hereinafter referred to as the Committee, is established as follows:
A. The Committee shall be comprised of the twenty-nine directors of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and the Secretary of the Executive Office of Communities and Development, or his designee. All the members of the Committee shall be ex officio voting members.
B. An Executive Committee shall be established to formulate the agenda for the full Committee meetings and direct the staff assigned to the Committee by the Massachusetts Municipal Association. The Executive Committee shall consist of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Municipal Association and the Secretary of Communities and Development, or his designee. The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Municipal Association shall also be the Chairperson of the full Committee and of the Executive Committee. If the Executive Committee shall be divided evenly on its vote on any issue the vote shall be considered negative.
C. In the event that the Massachusetts Municipal Association shall cease to exist, the Governor shall name an appropriate organization to nominate the same number of members as the originally designated organization.
D. Members of the Committee shall serve without compensation.
