Executive Order No. 162 is hereby amended by deleting the first and second paragraphs of section 1 in their entirety and substituting therefor the following new paragraphs:

1. There is hereby created a Committee, to be known as the Governor's Advisory Committee on Veterans' Affairs, to consist of representatives from recognized veterans' organizations, who shall serve without compensation. The members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Governor and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

The following organizations are authorized to submit a nominee to the Governor: the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, the AMVETS, the Marine Corps League, the Polish American Agents Association, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, the Jewish War Veterans and the Organization of Afro-American Veterans. Should the nominee of any organization not be acceptable to the Governor, such organization is authorized to submit a substitute nominee. The Governor may further, at any time, solicit nominees from any recognized veterans' organizations not mentioned herein, as he deems necessary, to insure that the Committee is representative of veterans' interests generally.
