Suicides are a highly significant, yet largely preventable public health issue. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Suicide Prevention Program works in collaboration with multiple national, state, and local partners to reduce them.
This page contains data released annually by the Massachusetts Violent Death Reporting System (MAVDRS). This data is organized by demographics, marital status, county, and education.
It also includes briefs and reports, such as on suicide across industries and occupations, suicides among young page (ages 10-24), and suicides during the COVID-19 pandemic.
